Andrew Liazos said a Senate proposal to drastically change the taxation of nonqualified deferred compensation plans appears little changed from a proposal that the House had already dropped, and questioned if the change was good tax policy because “it’s going to require a tremendous amount of effort for companies to restructure these plans that they’ve built over the past 10 years” in response to shareholder concerns.
