Lisa Schmitz Mazur said providers have struggled to use telehealth and telemedicine to treat patients with addiction issues without running afoul of a federal law that some Senators want to change. By superseding state laws to make treatment easier, the federal law is “creating an environment where healthcare providers are not wanting to do this at all” because “it has become too complicated,” she said.
