Amandeep Sidhu called the US Army’s decision to grant a Sikh-American officer a long-term religious accommodation for his articles of faith “a step in the right direction” but added that “we are not satisfied with the US military’s arduous, piecemeal approach to this issue, which forces all observant Sikhs to seek individual religious accommodations.” Mr. Sidhu and other pro bono lawyers had brought suit seeking the accommodation.
