Catherine Battin, Diann Smith and Alysse McLoughlin spoke March 15 at the Chicago office to a group of women tax professionals. Ms. Battin said about the new tax law that policy has “been decided at the federal level—the tax base rules—and now all the action moves to the state folks,” citing eight states with new models or guidance. Ms. Smith added that state revenue agencies “really need to go back and look at the instructions for their returns” to conform with new federal law
