Jeffrey Stone, McDermott’s Chicago-based co-chair, said that the Firm’s Chicago market success reflects a tremendous demand from financial and strategic buyers for acquisition targets, as well as the need for corporate and intellectual property advice from smaller life-sciences companies and new technology companies. McDermott, with 279 attorneys in Chicago, was noted as one of the five biggest law offices in the city by lawyer headcount.
