Overview
Mary Kay Martire successfully negotiated, on behalf of a major footwear maker, a settlement with the state of Illinois regarding uncollected sales and use taxes, damages and penalties related to a claim brought by a whistleblower. It was one of the few times a suit by the qui tam relator plaintiff led to a negotiated settlement between the state and the defendant.
