Joanne Ludovici said the record number of domain name disputes this year could be due to the rolling launch of generic top-level domains. “With the new generics that were put out a couple of years ago, there are just that many more domain names that are possible,” Ms. Ludovici noted, adding this “means there are that many more cybersquatters that can eat up that real estate.”
