Carol Harrington, global head of McDermott’s private client practice, said “it’s an exciting time for the trusts and estates bar” because “there’s a lot of wealth in the country in the baby boomer generation,” to which Julie Kwon added that “a lot of big firms want to start estate planning practices” and are actively recruiting for them. McDermott, with more than 70 lawyers in private client practice, was singled out as having one of the “deepest [trust & estates] groups in Big Law,”viewing “a large T&E practice as a good bet.”
