Andrew Liazos said new SEC clarifications of its pay-ratio rule are “answering questions about applying regulations to real-world situations.” He cited the “critical” exclusion of compensation for certain contractors on the “hot-button” issue of calculating pay averages, noting that “trying to figure out the number of people overall in an organization can have an effect on who the median employee is.”
