Trademark Protection for Original Store Design Possible


Dr. Boris Uphoff, in this interview, explained the decision by the European Court of Justice in July of this year, in the case of “Apple” Flagship Stores, that particularly “creative” and “unique” store designs may be registered as a trademark. Dr. Uphoff examined the judgment together with its consequences, as more and more companies, which depend on globally consistent retail space, invest in these concepts and want to protect their ideas against imitators.
