Treasury Adds Commodities Exception in Transition Tax Rules

Caroline Ngo commented on the US Department of the Treasury’s proposed exception to the transition tax for commodities and derivatives contracts. “A lot of taxpayers had identified issues with the proposed regulations, and there were substantial comments submitted to Treasury,” said Caroline Ngo. “Treasury pretty much stuck with their positions in the proposed regulations.”
