Christen Douglas said because there is no clear understanding of President Trump’s tax proposals and no assurance any changes will be permanent, making predictions on tax policy is difficult. Ms. Douglas urged building flexibility into estate plans and added, “You may want to give the individual who holds your power of attorney an expanded power to make certain changes to your estate plan in response to changes in the tax law.”
