Two McDermott Litigation Partners Nationally Recognized as “Rising Stars”

Overview

CHICAGO AND WASHINGTON DC (April 5, 2016) — International law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP is delighted to announce that two of its Litigation partners have been named “Rising Stars” in Law360’s annual publication recognizing lawyers under the age of 40.

The McDermott lawyers selected for the 2016 list are Lisa M. Richman, from the firm’s Washington, DC office, and Bryan M. Webster, from the firm’s Chicago office.

Each year, Law360 celebrates a select group of lawyers under the age of 40 whose impressive legal accomplishments belie their age. For this year’s list, McDermott has the great honor of being recognized in two distinct areas of the litigation arena, which demonstrates the broad base of talent among the firm’s trial attorneys.

“We would like to congratulate these bright, young partners who have been recognized so deservingly as ‘Rising Stars,’” said Lazar P. Raynal, global head of McDermott’s Litigation Practice. “I am proud that the future of McDermott’s Litigation group consists of such talent, and I look forward to supporting Lisa and Bryan as they continue developing their respective practices.”

Ms. Richman was chosen in the International Arbitration category for her significant work on behalf of investors and states involved in treaty arbitrations and companies in a variety of industries in commercial arbitrations around the world. She recently led a series of four separate but related international arbitrations on behalf of a major client in the transportation industry in disputes with hundreds of millions of dollars at stake. Ms. Richman managed two separate teams of McDermott lawyers assisting her on these cases and acted as First Chair in three oral merits and quantum hearings seated in Washington, DC in 2015.

Mr. Webster was selected based on his success representing insurers in high-stakes litigation matters and government investigations. In addition to representing insurers in high-stakes litigation, he also provides legal counseling to help clients minimize their litigation risk and to enhance their compliance efforts. Mr. Webster has counseled over a dozen market-leading health insurers, third party insurance benefits administrators and pharmacy benefit managers on an array of issues, including state insurance licensing requirements, accountable care organizations, administrative service agreements, coordination of benefits, data privacy, network management, prompt pay regulations, and overpayment recoveries.

This year, Law360 received more than 1,100 submissions across 32 different practice areas, and only selected 179 attorneys for the list. To view the full list of “Rising Stars” please click here (subscription required).
