Katie Clark author of this bylined article, assessed a U.K. Supreme Court judgment which affirmed that members of a limited liability partnership qualified as “workers.” As the authors explained, “This decision has potentially wide-reaching implications for LLPs who have partners based in the U.K., as the vast majority of LLP partners will now be entitled to the statutory protections that are afforded to workers under U.K. law,” although they added that “for true equity partners” the decision “will not, in reality, change very much at all.”
