Nathan Coco addressed Texas bankruptcy filings, noting that “it absolutely seems like there has been a substantial uptick in filings [in Texas], beginning even in 2015 when the drop in oil prices began to be felt within the economy here.” Mr. Coco cited as one reason the uniquely consistent guidelines for energy bankruptcy filings in Houston, saying that they “attempt to provide some predictability for how energy bankruptcy cases are going to be adjudicated.”
