US Captive Services Nominates McDermott for Two 2016 Awards

NEW YORK (August 2, 2016) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that the Firm’s Captive Insurance team has been shortlisted for two awards by Captive Review for its 2016 US Captive Services Award: Onshore Law Firm of the Year and Tax Advisory Firm.

For the 5th year, the US Captive Services Awards will “recognize and reward those providers of captive insurance products and services, who have outperformed their competitors and demonstrated the highest levels of excellence over the past 12 months.” The awards ceremony will be held on Monday, August 8 at the Hilton Burlington, in Burlington, Vermont.

The Onshore Law Firm of the Year award “recognizes contributions to the captive market through legal expertise and innovation, strategic vision and business winning client care. Specific contributions such as participation in discussions with regulators to support (or resist) regulatory developments should be cited in your submission.”

For the Tax Advisory Firm award, judges “look for excellence in technical tax advice, tax reviews and compliance.”

McDermott’s Captive Insurance Tax Team includes partners Elizabeth Erickson, Kristen Hazel and Tom Jones.
