For years, multinational companies had sought international tax reform to get out from under what they claimed were onerous and outdated U.S. rules — but now, after the passage of the most comprehensive overhaul in decades, companies remain wary of restructuring absent further guidance. “I think companies are taking a wait-and-see approach,” said Caroline Ngo. “I think they might reassess where things are when guidance comes out from Treasury.”
