Daniel Gottlieb assessed a new federal government rule which aims to improve the way electronic health information is shared and the way care is delivered, saying that it “allows providers to meet the patient engagement meaningful use measures through mobile apps on smartphones, wearables and other mobile devices with an application program interface connection to the providers’ certified EHR technology.” Mr. Gottlieb added that such technology “has the potential to make us better managers of our own health and facilitate better coordination of care.”
