Stephen Kranz commented about the Virginia legislature’s decision to indefinitely shelve efforts to tax audio and visual streaming that “there appears to be a trend away from imposing such taxes on streaming services, at least at the legislative level.” Citing similar actions in Arizona and Florida, Mr. Kranz called such pushback “a reaction to business and consumer concerns.”
