Krishnakumar (Kris) Balasubramanian, PhD* handles patent prosecution matters for life sciences and biotechnology companies. He handles all aspects of drafting and prosecuting complex patent applications, including research, analysis and evaluation of patentability, as well as representing inventors before USPTO. He also prepares written opinions and counsels clients on patent process and merits of inventions.
Kris advises clients on invention disclosures, patent preparation and prosecution, and prior art and patent searching for utility and design applications. He has experience in drafting and prosecuting applications in various subject areas, including formulations, therapeutics, biomarkers, nanoparticle delivery systems, microarray platforms, pathogen detection, next generation sequencing and single nucleotide polymorphism analysis.
Having held several research positions, Kris is highly skilled with hands-on laboratory experience in biochemical, cell biology, cancer biology, molecular biology, and immunology areas.
