Ibrahim Barakat focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions in the healthcare sector and healthcare private equity. He has experience working on domestic and international business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, and general corporate and commercial advisory matters. Ibrahim serves as counsel to public and private corporations, private equity funds, physician practices and strategic investors in connection with a wide range of transactional and corporate matters.

- Represented Team Health Holdings, Inc., in various acquisitions of anesthesiology and emergency medicine physician practice and management groups
- Represented the physician owners of an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) in a sale to a leading provider of comprehensive pain management treatment services
- Represented a leading global provider of spa services and operations in its US$175 million acquisition of a personal care company with more than 120 locations specializing in laser hair and tattoo removal, and ultrasound skin lifting
- Represented Center for Sight, Florida–based eye care platform, in the acquisition of Montgomery Eye
- Represented SouthEast Eye Specialists, a leading provider of medical and surgical eye care, in a transaction with Flexpoint Ford
- Represented Center for Sight, Florida-based eye care platform, in their sale to Pamlico Capital, private equity firm
- Represented Ophthalmic Specialists of Michigan (OSM) in their sale to Ridgemont Equity Partners, a middle market private equity firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina
- Represented Water’s Edge Dermatology, leading provider of comprehensive dermatology services, in their sale to Gryphon Capital, Charlotte-based private equity firm
- Represented DermCare Management, LLC, in connection with an equity investment by Gemini Investors, VI, L.P., and the acquisition of five South Florida dermatology practice management companies
- Represented DermCare Management, LLC in a recapitalization by Hildred Capital Partners, New York-based private equity firm
