Overview
Dr. Gräbener focuses his practice on commercial law, industrial property rights and insurance law, as well as cartel and competition law. The particular focus of his work lies mainly on litigation in these fields of law. Furthermore, he is intensively involved in the field of product liability. He is a member of the Intellectual Property and Litigation Practice Group (IPLIT).
Dr. Gräbener regularly advises both German and international industrial companies on all aspects of their operations, including purchase and procurement, production, distribution and franchising, and has extensive litigation experience in this context. He represents both German and international clients in particular in patent and trademark infringement proceedings as well as in complex disputes in the fields of commercial, competition and (distribution) antitrust law.
Dr. Gräbener regularly represents insurance companies in complex insurance law disputes, especially relating to (D&O) liability insurance disputes.
Furthermore, Dr. Gräbener has outstanding knowledge in public law (especially in constitutional and administrative law) and in foundational legal subjects (constitutional history, philosophy of law and theory of law). Before joining McDermott Will & Emery, he worked for many years at a German university and for a major international law firm in Munich.
In March 2017, Dr. Gräbener was appointed voluntary Examiner for the First Legal State Exam by the Bavarian State Office.
