Thomas Granier focuses his practice on international arbitration and has developed a strong experience in disputes relating to new technologies, IT, energy, M&A, joint-ventures, construction and distribution. Thomas has acted as counsel and arbitrator in a number of commercial arbitrations under the rules of various institutions such as the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC), the ICC, the LCIA, and ad hoc arbitrations. Thomas has also acted as counsel in investment arbitrations before the International Center for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
Thomas is recognized as a dispute resolution specialist in GAR’s edition of Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration – Future Leaders 2018.
Before joining the Firm, Thomas served as counsel for the Europe, Middle-East and Africa Team at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration in Paris, after having acted as deputy counsel for the Germany, Switzerland, and Austria Team. At the ICC, Thomas supervised more than 300 arbitrations and reviewed a number of arbitration awards.
Thomas Granier co-founded Delos Dispute Resolution, an independent arbitration institution established to meet the demands of start-ups and SMEs globally by promoting time and cost efficiency in the resolution of their disputes. He has been appointed Special Advisor to the Casablanca International Mediation and Arbitration Centre (CIMAC) and sits on the panel of arbitrators of Delos Dispute Resolution and ICC France.
Thomas has authored a number of articles on subjects related to international arbitration, and regularly speaks at conferences on various topics in the field of investment treaty arbitration and commercial arbitration. Thomas has taught international arbitration law at the University Paris Descartes and French law of obligations at the University Paris-Ouest Nanterre La Défense.

Served as counsel in an ICC arbitrations in Paris between a Togolese provider of financial and commercial solutions against Mauritian and French telecommunication companies relating to a confidentiality agreement governed by French law
Served as counsel in two ICC arbitrations in Paris between a Togolese provider of financial and commercial solutions against an English telecommunication company relating to the acquisition of a Senegalese telecommunication company governed by English law
Served as counsel in an LCIA arbitration in London between a South African oil company and a Marshall Islands company, relating to the acquisition of a Ghanaian oil company, subject to English law
Served as counsel in an ICSID arbitration in Paris between Lundin Tunisia B.V. and the Tunisian State, arising out of Lundin’s investments in Tunisia
Served as counsel in an ICC emergency arbitration in Paris between a Mauritius trading company and a West African mining company relating to a minerals supply agreement, subject to Belgian law
Served as counsel in an ICC arbitration in Paris between a Mauritius trading company and a West African mining company relating to a minerals supply agreement, subject to Belgian law
Served as counsel in a multi-billion ICC arbitration in Paris between shareholders relating to a shareholders agreement, subject to Dutch law
Served as counsel in an ICC arbitration in Paris, between a French chemicals company and a French contractor relating to a depollution agreement, subject to French law
Served as counsel in an UNCITRAL arbitration in Paris between two French petroleum companies arising out of a joint venture agreement, subject to French law
Served as counsel for a Brazilian company in defending a US$ 200 million ICC award in annulment proceedings before the Paris Court of Appeal
Served as counsel in an arbitration related litigation in Madagascar between two Korean conglomerates for the purpose of securing conservatory measures for an amount of US$ 45 Million in relation to the construction of a power plant in Madagascar
