Daniel (Dan) Martin focuses his practice on real estate investment and financing transactions, including joint ventures, construction, development, acquisitions, dispositions, loan originations, restructurings and workouts. His clients include major financial institutions and private equity funds, hedge funds, pension funds and other institutional investors.

While at law school, Dan served as the senior editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law. Since then he has co-authored publications in the New York Law Journal and in Commercial Leasing Law & Strategy.


  • Representation of an investment fund in providing first priority mortgage financing for the construction of a premier New York City tourist attraction with a construction budget in excess of $500 million, with junior priority mortgage and mezzanine financing in place
  • Representation of a private equity fund in the acquisition and financing of a New England-based chain of privately owned hospitals, in a transaction valued at over $1 billion
