Melissa Kwek has more than 15 years of experience as a business and transactional lawyer focused on projects, public private partnerships, mergers and acquisitions and cross-border corporate transactions. She has extensive experience in deals involving countries in Asia including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and China. She has acted for government agencies, government linked entities (including state owned enterprises), multinational companies and other corporate clients across a wide range of industries.

Melissa has a unique and pragmatic perspective towards legal support having served as in-house legal counsel for two MNCs.



  • Advised a Chinese SOE sponsor in its due diligence and participation in a tender for an electrical transmission line project in Argentina*
  • Advised service provider which provides support vessels and project transportation in a service contract for the provision of geotechnical services in Taiwan with a Taiwan customer in relation to a wind farm*
  • Advised a Bangladesh entity in its arbitration with its customer in relation to a solar power purchase agreement in South Asia*
  • Advised a Bangladesh entity in its agreement(s) with investors in relation to a solar power plant project in South Asia*
  • Advised the Korea Development Bank in a potential project financing of a waste to energy project in Sri Lanka through a due diligence exercise conducted on the project*
