Overview
Eric Merklinger focuses his practice on complex commercial disputes for clients in the financial services, transportation and aviation, manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries. He is experienced in securities class action defense and has conducted several internal investigations for corporate clients.
Eric represents major US and foreign public audit firms and its individual professionals in connection with litigation and regulatory matters, including investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Division of Enforcement. Eric also advises clients in white collar criminal matters and participates in sports related probes involving the use of banned substances.

- Represented a major sports league with their efforts to remove banned substances from the game, as well as sanction offending players*
- Represented an international airline in a class action breach of contract dispute comprised of class members from around the world*
- Represented a government transportation organization in an investigation involving the operation of their facilities*
- Successfully represented an international insurance firm against allegations of money laundering by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC)*
