Overview
Niya Mack* focuses her practice on regulatory issues affecting the healthcare industry, with a focus on counseling hospitals, health systems and other providers as they navigate the complexities of public and private sector partnerships. Niya also works with healthcare providers across the full scope of healthcare fraud and abuse matters, and has experience with CARES Act funding matters during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Niya is experienced in providing strategic and regulatory counseling on federal agency action related to health laws. She supports a variety of healthcare clients in developing arrangements designed to increase access to care.
Prior to joining McDermott, Niya served as a lead attorney advisor at the US Department of Health and Human Services where she primarily focused on advising agencies on Administrative Procedures Act compliance, regulatory interpretation and program integrity. She also worked on data sharing matters, including the use of digital health and innovative technology to assist senior citizens.
While in law school, Niya externed with state and federal regulators, including the Office of the General Counsel for the US Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Division.
