Paresh Kumar focuses his practice on intellectual property matters in the life sciences industry encompassing patent litigation, patent prosecution and patent licensing. He is also a registered pharmacist in Massachusetts. Paresh relies on his scientific, legal and business skills to advise entrepreneurs, investors, universities and established biopharmaceutical companies.
Paresh has first-hand experience working at several institutions in the health care and life science industries throughout the drug product lifecycle. His experiences include scientific bench research, academic technology transfer, venture capital, financial analytics, clinical development, regulatory research (FDA), pharmacy operations, sterile compounding of medications and direct patient care.
While in law school, Paresh was a student attorney in the Entrepreneurship & Intellectual Property Clinic where he advised MIT and Boston University entrepreneurs on a variety of legal issues including entity formation, corporate governance, financing and intellectual property strategy. Additionally, Paresh served as a venture scholar evaluating technologies for investment, and as a R&D strategy consultant for two life sciences companies with the MIT Volunteer Consulting Group.
