Overview
Peter Scheyer focuses his practice on privacy and cybersecurity matters. As part of his work, Peter has investigated data breaches involving sensitive internal and external matters and coordinated the activities of forensic specialists.
While he was earning his legal degree, Peter completed a legal externship at the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA), where he analyzed the Illinois State Agency cybersecurity and presented detailed recommendations to ICJIA senior stakeholders. He was also a judicial extern at the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Peter served in the US Air Force as an Information Security auditor, Wing-level EMSEC inspector and an applied cryptographer. He also researched Artificial Intelligence and presided over a symposium as a fellow at the Foresight Institute.
Peter holds a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ICS 300/400 certification. He previously held a TS/SCI clearance and CompTIA Security+ certification.
