Overview
Kathleen Quinn is a partner in McDermott Will & Emery’s Tax Practice Group. Kathleen focuses her practice on state and local tax matters and advises on multistate issues. She represents businesses and individual taxpayers at all stages of state and local tax controversies, including the audit, administrative and judicial levels. Kathleen has also represented taxpayers before the New York State Division of Tax Appeals, New York City Division of Tax Appeals and state tax tribunals and courts across the country. She represents clients across many industries, including tech, private equity, retail, media and entertainment and fine art.
Kathleen is also active in the legislative space and co-leads STARR Partnership, a coalition of multinational companies across all industries that advocates for favorable state business tax legislation. She has testified before state legislatures and works with business organizations across the country.
Kathleen is a co-author of the New Jersey Tax Handbook. She has also authored articles for professional publications, speaks at national conferences and is interviewed frequently by journalists covering state and local tax developments.
Kathleen was recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America 2023 for her work in tax law.
Previously, Kathleen worked at a Big Four accounting firm, where her practice focused on state and local tax.
