Overview
Sarah Ahmed supports hospitals, health systems and other health industry clients on a variety of healthcare regulatory matters. A Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Sarah is particularly focused on healthcare data privacy matters, including compliance programs and HIPAA issues. Sarah also advises clients on compliance with state privacy and data breach laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Sarah also provides strategic and regulatory counseling on state and federal healthcare laws, with experience addressing Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS) matters. Sarah is experienced in executing healthcare transactions, including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining McDermott, Sarah was a healthcare associate at a large US-based law firm. She is a frequent author on a variety of healthcare legal issues, including elective procedures, bundled payments, and telehealth issues.
