Overview
Sarah focuses her practice on private client matters as well as tax controversy. Prior to joining McDermott, she worked for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. While there, she handled cases related to individuals, partnerships and corporations from the audit to the trial stage.
Sarah’s experience includes leading a three-person trial team on a docketed tax deficiency case in the Large Business & International (LB&I) division, on which she and her team defeated several opposing counsel motions. More broadly, Sarah has experience serving as a trial team member in Tax Court and state court, performing direct and cross-examination of witnesses, drafting and negotiating stipulations of facts, Branerton requests and responses, Motions and Requests for Admissions.
