Sakai Shabo advises domestic and foreign institutional investors and project developers on commercial real estate transactions (asset and share deals, individual and portfolio transactions).

His practice focuses on advising on real estate transactions and complex project developments with a particular focus on office and logistics properties. In addition, he has profound knowledge and experience in the restructuring of retail companies as well as acquisitions and sales from insolvencies. Furthermore, Sakai Shabo advises on all aspects of commercial tenancy law.

During his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, he worked for other international law firms in Düsseldorf and Stockholm.

Sakai advised:

• Nagel-Group on the sale of a logistics real estate portfolio in Germany and Denmark, also providing ongoing advice on tenancy law and post-closing issues
• International logistics project developers (in particular Goodman Group and Scannell Properties) on the sale, project development and leasing of logistics properties
• SIGNA Group on various transactions, including the purchase and project development of the Carsch-Haus in Düsseldorf including the letting to the KaDeWe Group and the Sale of the Berlin project development STREAM by way of a forward share deal; also ongoing tenancy law advice regarding the Upper West in Berlin
• Atalaya Capital on an indirect investment in a European commercial real estate portfolio
• National and international retail companies on restructuring projects (e.g. Douglas, GALERIA) and tenancy law issues (e.g. HEMA, MANGO and Foot Locker)
