Overview
Steven Haywood is part of the Firm’s Investment Funds Group. Steven has extensive experience in advising global asset managers on the structuring and formation of private investment funds, including direct lending and credit funds, private equity and private equity secondaries funds, infrastructure and real estate funds. His experience also includes advising institutional investors on their investments into private investment funds and he has also acted for institutional investors on portfolio sales of fund interests, secondaries and co-investments. In addition, he has significant industry experience accumulated whilst in-house in the Alternatives asset management division of a global investment bank.

- Acting for a philanthropy backed global asset manager on a proposed decarbonisation investment programme involving both public and private funds and with a focus on green technologies*
- Acting for the Alternatives asset management arm of a Swiss bank on the proposed establishment of a new UK Alternatives funds business*
- Acting for a pension funds service provider on the proposed establishment of a new Alternatives funds pooling structure, including regulatory and fund structuring advice*

- Acting for a newly formed real estate manager on a proposed real estate fund*
- Acting for the global asset management arm of a multinational banking and financial services organisation on certain co-investments and fund matters*
- Acting for a family office on an investment in a private equity venture capital fund*
- Acting for a global asset manager on the establishment of separate UK focused and European focused direct lending funds and associated carried interest arrangements*
- Acting for the pensions investment manager of a major energy company on the disposal of a portfolio of private equity interests in a secondaries transaction*

- Acting for certain significant UK and Canadian pension funds on primary commitments and co-investments with respect to private equity funds*
