Matthew Widmyer* focuses his practice on private client matters, including estate planning, exempt organizations, business succession planning, estate administration, probate litigation, and private wealth management. He advises clients regarding private foundations, charitable trusts, tax liabilities associated with trust, estate, and gift taxes, and complex estate plans.
Prior to joining McDermott, Matthew was a law clerk for the Hon. Ronald L. Buch of the United States Tax Court, where he gained significant experience on diverse federal income tax matters. Before joining the US Tax Court, Matthew was an associate at a US firm which specialized in wealth planning and preservation and trust and estate law. *Licensed in Idaho only and not yet admitted to practice in the District of Columbia. Supervised by principals of the Firm who are admitted to the District of Columbia bar.
