BOSTON– McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Monica Neuman has been named a 2018 “Top Women of Law” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.
Each year Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly honors women who have made tremendous professional strides and demonstrated great accomplishments in the legal field. The awards highlight 50 pioneering women who are committed to education and mentorship.
Neuman focuses her practice on complex transactions and regulatory compliance matters affecting companies and institutions in the health care industry. She counsels a wide range of clients in connection with acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures and strategic affiliations as well as general business transactions, and has negotiated, documented and closed numerous health industry transactions. In her regulatory practice, Monica counsels clients on Stark and Anti-Kickback compliance issues such as physician compensation matters, and assists clients in investigating and addressing potential or alleged violations, including self-disclosures of Stark- and Anti-Kickback-related actions.
Her pro bono efforts focus on advocating on behalf of children with special education needs. Neuman serves on the Boston Children’s Hospital Trust Latino Advisory Committee, and is also a member of The Philanthropy Connection, an organization that teaches women to engage in collective philanthropy in order to provide grants to charitable organizations that improve the quality of life for low-resource individuals and families in Massachusetts. She also serves on McDermott’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and the Racial & Ethnic Diversity & Inclusion Sub-Committee.
Neuman was recognized by Chambers USA from 2013 to 2016, including Band 3 Healthcare and as an “Up and Coming Healthcare Attorney.” In 2015, she was named to Boston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list. She was a recipient of the American Health Lawyers Association Pro Bono Champion Award for three consecutive years, among other professional awards.
