McDermott Partner Michael Rosen-Prinz Elected Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

Overview

Leading international law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Los Angeles-based partner Michael Rosen-Prinz has been elected Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He joins 16 other McDermott lawyers with this recognition, demonstrating the Firm’s commitment to outstanding service and business outcomes.

ACTEC is nonprofit organization of more than 2,500 lawyers and law professionals who aim to improve trust and tax laws, procedures and professional responsibility. ACTEC Fellows have demonstrated the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence and experience as trust and estate counselors.

Individual lawyers meeting the criteria for membership are nominated by Fellows of the College, and are subjected to careful review by both state and national membership selection committees prior to consideration by the regents of the College. Fellows are selected on the basis of experience, professional reputation and ability in the fields of trusts and estates and on the basis of having made substantial contributions to these fields through lecturing, writing, teaching and bar activities.

“A big congratulations to Michael on receiving this prestigious and well-deserved recognition,” said Bill Butler, global head of McDermott’s Private Client Practice. “Michael has formed a bond of trust with his clients by supporting them on their most complex matters. They know that Michael, and the rest of the McDermott team, will deliver positive, long-lasting results no matter the situation.”

Michael works with individuals and families to solve problems and develop strategies for wealth transfer, family governance, business succession planning and estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax matters. He assists clients with the formation and operation of family offices and private trust companies, and the coordination of such structures with the family’s overall estate plan.

Michael also has substantial experience in cross-border planning for international families. He represents entrepreneurs with global business interests, families seeking to establish trusts and other structures to benefit loved ones in the US and beyond, and multi-jurisdictional individuals looking to structure their affairs in a private, tax-efficient manner.

McDermott’s Private Client Practice represents high-net-worth individuals, families and closely held businesses with an extraordinary focus on the client’s specific, unique objectives. The team, more than 110 strong, is continually recognized as the top private client practice in the US and among the top practices worldwide. In 2019 McDermott’s Private Client practice was awarded the only national Band 1 ranking for Private Wealth Law in the US by Chambers High Net Worth, a guide dedicated to the global private wealth market.
