Rise Above 2020

Rise Above 2020

Overview

Carole Spink, a partner in the Employment Practice Group, will speak at Neeyamo’s Rise Above 2020 conference. Her session, Perspectives on the Post-COVID (Remote) Workplace, will be November 13, 2020 at 11:00 – 11:30 am ET.

Given the success many employers had with remote work arrangements during the initial COVID-19 quarantines and shutdowns, companies should challenge their prior assumptions on the longer term feasibility of remote work. Key talent may demand that remote work continue due to continued health and safety concerns as well as distance learning obligations for dependents. Costs of maintaining large communal offices may not make sense when weighed against the increased safety and sanitation procedures required until the pandemic subsides. HR should be prepared for these organizational changes and the legal challenges associated with increasing numbers of remote workers.

This session will provide best practices for remote work arrangements:

  • Wage and hour compliance
  • Effective management and discipline
  • Protection of confidential and proprietary information
  • Employee dismissals

The discussion will include perspectives from the US and select jurisdictions among the world’s major regions. Learn more and register here.
