Robert Krieger is an associate in McDermott Will & Schulte’s Investment Management practice. His practice focuses on private alternative investment funds, including their structuring, management, and related corporate and regulatory matters. Robert regularly advises and represents clients in connection with the formation, structuring and operation of private funds pursuing a variety of strategies, including hedge funds, venture capital funds, private equity funds and special purpose vehicles. He also has experience advising and representing clients in connection with the formation and operation of management entities to private funds.
Robert has experience drafting and negotiating offering documents, side letters, investment advisory agreements (including for separately managed accounts), governing agreements for management entities, employee compensation arrangements, board resolutions, counterparty agreements and related transaction documents. He also supports clients in developing and implementing compliance programs, including preparing compliance manuals, codes of ethics and submitting regulatory filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Prior to joining McDermott Will & Schulte, Robert served as counsel at an investment management firm, where he provided guidance in governance, compliance, and regulatory engagement matters, as well as in litigation and dispute resolution. He also practiced at a leading, national law firm, where he advised private fund sponsors on fund formation, tax structuring, and related corporate and transactional issues across a range of investment and other corporate strategies.

- Robert currently serves as an advisory board member of Gabriel Project Mumbai, a community-led development organization that works with communities residing in the underserved informal urban settlements of Mumbai, and the historically marginalized rural tribal villages of Maharashtra, India.
