London (October 12, 2017) – The London office of McDermott Will & Emery has again been recognised as a leading law firm by The Legal 500, with the 2017 edition ranks nine of the office’s practices and recommends 26 London based lawyers.
The number of lawyers recognised represents a nearly 50% increase on last year’s results and includes 13 new lawyer recognitions.
Notably, the firm’s Corporate Advisory team holds Tier 1 position in Corporate and Commercial: M&A – mid-market, £50m-£250m, and the Energy Advisory team retains its Tier 2 ranking in Finance – Commodities: Physicals, for the sixth consecutive year. The McDermott London Private Client is ranked in Tier 2 for both Private Client – Contentious Trusts and Probate, and Private Client – Personal Tax, Trusts and Probates and the Private Equity team holds its Tier 2 ranking in Corporate and Commercial: Private Equity: Transactions: Mid Cap Deal Capability.
For the first time the firm is ranked in Projects, Energy and Natural Resources – Power (including electricity, nuclear and renewables), with the team described as ‘hugely professional’ and ranks in Tier 4.
Included in the elite ‘Leading Lawyers’ list are partners David Birchall (finance – Commodities – derivatives and physicals), Nick Holland (private client – contentious trusts and probate) and Ziva Robertson. (private client – contentious trusts and probate).
The Legal 500 rankings are based on feedback from 250,000 industry peers as well as data on law firms’ deals and confidential matters, which are independently assessed by researchers.
