PARIS (22 November, 2016) — International law firm McDermott Will & Emery advised French biotechnology startup Poietis, a French leader for 3D bio printing, on its exclusive research partnership with L’Oréal to develop bio printing of hair.
Created in 2014 Poietis is a biotechnology company whose mission is to create and develop biological human tissues for research and regenerative medical purposes. The tissues are produced thanks to laser-assisted bio printing technology used to design, develop and manufacture biological tissues with microscopic precision and resolution. Winner of the 2014 ILab Contest (French National Competition for Innovative start-up Creation of the Ministry of Research, Creation-Development category) and the 2016 Worldwide Innovation Contest, Poietis is the only company to use this technology initially developed at the INSERM and Bordeaux University.
According to the companies’ representatives, this collaboration “should lead to the development of innovative applications in terms of tissue engineering.”
The McDermott team advising on the partnership was comprised of Paris based lawyers Anthony Paronneau and Anne-France Moreau.
