M. Todd Welty, with partners Mark Thomas and Laura Gavioli, has joined the tax controversy practice in McDermott’s Dallas office. Mr. Welty, who will co-chair the tax controversy practice, said that McDermott’s capability in this area “stands out head and shoulders above the rest.” Lowell Yoder, head of McDermott’s U.S. and international tax practice group, said that this “next generation group” of lawyers adds greatly to the firm’s tax controversy practice.
