Michael Peregrine wrote this bylined article describing how organizations can enhance the compliance officer / general counsel relationship. “This isn’t a “them vs. us” situation,” Mr. Peregrine wrote. “We can, we should and we must move beyond that if we are to serve the interests of corporate compliance with law and regulation … It is ludicrous to suggest, as some do, that the general counsel only worries about what is ‘legal’ and the compliance officer only worries about what is ‘right.’”
