McDermott has announced a full-service venture agreement in La Habana with independent Spanish firm Olleros Abogados (a McDermott collaborator for several years) for clients doing business from and into Cuba. Co-chair Jeffrey Stone said the venture will be “particularly strong in the areas of international trade, competition, corporate, regulatory and tax” for hospitality, agriculture, and tourism clients, among others, while Co-chair Peter Sacripanti called Cuba “a significant opportunity for McDermott and our clients. As the market opens up, our lawyers will be able to serve clients on a full range of corporate legal matters.”
