Kristian Werling said that equity-based crowdfunding under the JOBS Act for biotech and similar companies “starts to go a little bit awry” because of the “pretty high burden on small companies for what information needs to be disclosed.” Mr. Werling expressed the belief that the SEC should relax some of the crowdfunding filing requirements and let investors take more risk.
