Nancy Gerrie foresaw “a mixed bag” for pension and benefit developments in 2014, adding, “I don’t think we’ll see any major trends like during the Pension Protection Act years. [We’ll] see a fair amount of loose ends tied, up but not a lot of major shifts in policy.” Stephen Pavlick added that one major trend will be the “continued demise of the defined benefit plan.”
