McDermott’s Paris office plays an important role in our international firm, helping French businesses strengthen their positions domestically, throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and around the world. Our highly experienced lawyers also advise foreign and multinational investors, companies and financial institutions seeking to enter the marketplace in France.
Like our clients, we have pursued an intelligent, practical growth strategy, building the Paris office in a manner that best serves the needs of our diverse clients. Our 60-lawyer team provides cross-disciplinary counsel to some of the country’s best-known companies in all key areas of law, including corporate transactions, EU competition, finance, labor and employment, litigation and dispute resolution, private equity, IP, public law and tax, among others. We have strong industry teams as well, with extensive experience in life sciences, construction and engineering, distribution, energy, oil and gas, telecommunications and transportation.
As a trainee in McDermott’s Paris office, you will assist in the provision of legal or tax advice and services to the highest standard. You will be expected to keep up-to-date with the relevant areas of law and practice, and understand and comply with all rules of professional conduct.

We seek the brightest, best and most entrepreneurial interns with strong interpersonal skills. Our training program is deliberately exclusive, and our trainees are self-reliant, academic high-fliers who want to make their mark. We recruit interns with a French university diploma in law, possibly with a Grande Ecole, an LLM or an equivalent legal degree with top marks and fluent English. Experience studying and working abroad is appreciated, as well as fluency in other languages.
We offer internships of 3 to 6 months throughout the year.
