On 7 August 2014, the Italian Parliament approved the conversion into law of Law Decree no. 91 /2014 (the Decree), which modifies, amongst other matters, the currently applicable feed-in-tariff (FiT) rates for photovoltaic (PV) plants. The conversion law contains a number of changes in respect of the previous version of the Decree: in particular it increases the number of available options of reformulation of the Feed-in Tariffs, and it adds an option for investors of early redemption of up to 80% of their remaining incentives.
This article describes the changes to the current incentive system and analyses possible legal actions for investors to protect their investments.
