“In a decision that is all the more significant because it rules against the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), despite the latter’s support from the European Committee (ECPD), the CJEU confirms that pseudonymised data can be considered anonymised. Furthermore, the anonymised nature of data can be assessed from the perspective of a third party to the data controller and according to the circumstances of the case.”
