MaryKathryn Hurd provides knowledge management solutions to the Health & Life Sciences Practice Group. As Knowledge Management counsel, she leverages data analytics, technology, and AI-enabled tools to curate and build the content, systems, and resources that help the team deliver consistent, high-quality, and cost-effective client service.

MaryKathryn’s approach is grounded in her prior experience as a healthcare regulatory lawyer advising hospitals, health systems, physicians and other providers, health plans, and healthcare companies on a broad range of federal and state regulatory issues and strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, and joint ventures. Her regulatory background includes counseling on complex Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and compliance matters, as well as state licensure and scope-of-practice requirements.

Before attending law school, MaryKathryn served as a lobbyist for six years, advocating for her clients’ interests and policy goals before members of the Colorado General Assembly. In her role as the legislative liaison representing the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, MaryKathryn was actively involved with the passage and implementation of the Medicaid Expansion and Affordable Care Act in Colorado, as well as the creation of a new dental benefit program for adult Medicaid clients.
